Today I have a review to share with you on some Bundle Monster gels! In particular the Fundamentals kit, which features three gel polishes as well as an ultra mini LED lamp. Let’s take a look!
Inside the kit is this adorable LED flashlight that cures the gel polish, one nail at a time. As well as a black, white and red gel polish. These are speed gels and don’t require a base or top coat. This is a great kit for on-the-go since you only need minimal supplies and the lamp is so tiny! It requires 3 AAA-batteries to operate which are not included. I think this lamp is great for flash curing the tips to avoid shrinkage (tip from Deborah Love Varnish).
Included in my package was the Bundle Monster Gel-Off peelable base coat as well. This is a base coat you need to cure in the lamp before applying gel polish as normal. It’s designed for bloggers or people who want shorter wear out of their gel polish, as it allows you to peel off your gel rather than soak it off. The instructions tell you to apply a coat (or two) of regular nail polish base coat before applying a thin layer of this gel-off base. I tried this product both with and without regular nail polish base coat and sadly in both instances it peeled off layers of my nail plate. Thankfully I tried this on my right hand so I didn’t damage my swatch hand. I am not sure if my application was at fault, sadly this product just did not work for me. Instead I use a clear liquid latex to swatch gel polishes.
Edit: I received some great feedback from the lovely Tiana at Bundle Monster who successfully uses the Gel Off on her natural nails. It’s likely my nails are naturally dry which is the cause of some of the layers lifting when peeling off the product. If you have naturally oily nails it should work much better for you. I will be trying this product again but applying oil first to see if that helps. If it does I will report back and publish a separate review.
Bundle Monster – Button Down: First up is Button Down, the white gel polish in this set. It may not look as glossy as the other two but I can assure you it had the same glossy finish. The reflection does not show up as well since it’s such a pale colour. It’s definitely a true white which is really nice. I used three thin coats.
Bundle Monster – Rouge Lipstick: Next up is this gorgeous red. It’s a beautiful true red with a warm undertone. A classic and must-have.As I mentioned, these are speed gels and don’t require a base or top gel coat which does speed up application quite a bit. You will need to prep your nails as usual (shape, push back your cuticles and cleanse the nail from oils using alcohol). Check out my video on how to apply gel polish here. This was two thin coats.
Bundle Monster – Cocktail Dress: Finally we have this black gel polish. It was slightly sheer on the first coat but completely opaque in the second coat. A real true black. This was two coats.
You can purchase Bundle Monster gel polishes via the official website. This set is on sale now for just $19.90, or get the colours separately for just $5.50 a bottle. The bottles contain 13ml. Overall I was impressed with these gels and definitely want to try more of them. They have some really gorgeous gels in their range including thermals, duochromes and flakies. The coverage and colours in this set are lovely, the consistency was thicker than other gel polishes I have tried but this didn’t make a difference in the final finish.
