Today I have five stunning Spell Polishes to show you! This is my first time trying this indie brand. I immediately fell in love with the beautiful bottles and elegant logo. Heather, the talented lady behind this brand has a real eye for detail. My package included branded tissue paper, a cute business card and a sticker. All absolutely gorgeous! Let’s take a look at the polishes.
Spell Polish – Erasing History
Spell Polish – Erasing History: First up is Erasing History which is part of the popular Magichromes collection. These aren’t your typical multichromes. I found the colour combinations of these more unique as you can see from the shade above. Erasing History shifts from a vintage rose to brown to mossy green. Very different but really beautiful. This was three thin coats on its own.
Spell Polish – To The Moon And Back
Spell Polish – To The Moon And Back: Next we have To The Moon And Back, also from the Magichromes collection. This one shifts from a steely blue to mauve to a deep orange. I noticed, and you can see it well in the close-up, that these have a more shimmer-y finish than regular multichromes. I really loved this one! I used three thin coats.
Spell Polish – Escaping Gravity
Spell Polish – Escaping Gravity: Next we have the third and final polish from the Magichromes collection. This one reminds me more of the typical multichromes you see and it shifted from a deep blue to purple to pink and orange. It had a very strong colour shift and great coverage. I used two coats.
Spell Polish – This Night Is A Dream
Spell Polish – This Night Is A Dream: This shade is from the Written In The Stars collection. It’s a turquoise jelly with strong pink and purple shimmer. You can layer this one on its own like I did or layer it over black for an awesome shimmer-y effect. I wanted to show what it looks like on its own. I’m not the biggest fan of VNL but I still loved how this looks. It’s so squishy! I used three coats.
Spell Polish – Troll
Spell Polish – Troll: I saved the best till last! This is my favourite out of the five I was sent, it’s called Troll and was released in The Duds We Once Loved collection. It’s a a dark turquoise with bright golden green shimmer and sparse holographic gold glitters. It’s very mermaid-y! Really magical and beautiful. This was three coats.
I really loved these polishes by Spell Polish. The formula was fairly good on most of them. Some were a little more viscous, not necessarily thick, just a more sticky consistency. Two polishes I was sent had the old formula that has a very strong smell which is luckily being phased out. All new bottles should have the new formula which I’m happy to report has no strong smell!
You can purchase Spell Polish from the official website based out of the USA or from one of the international stockists. All polishes contain 15ml and are 5-free and cruelty free. Bottles are $17 which is a bit pricier but the polishes are really stunning and I cannot wait to see what Heather creates next!
