Today I’m sharing a review on a new stamping set from Pueen! Pueen are a company based in the USA, their range includes beautiful stamping plates, stamping tools, stamping polish and nail deco accessories. This latest set called Love Box Stamping Set 02 includes both stamping plates and a stamper and scraper. Let’s take a look!
Pueen Love Box Stamping Set 02
Inside the new Love Box Stamping Set 02 you will find four stamping plates and the Pueen stamper and scraping card. The plates come in a pretty paper sleeve that actually have some nail art ideas on the front, with the actual images from the plate itself. I thought that was very cool!
I’ll be very honest, when I saw the stamper I had no high hopes for it. It’s a squishy-firm silicone stamper and it’s on the smaller side, I tend to prefer squishier stampers and larger ones but I decided to give it a go anyway. I washed it and slightly buffed it with a magic eraser sponge to take away the shine as it was very shiny. When I tried it, it picked up completely perfectly from the first try. It kinda blew me away! I used a soft rolling motion to pick up my stamp and I got insanely good results, no air bubbles at all. I used it for all four manicures in this post and I’ll be using it a lot more in the future because it’s just so good. Very impressed!
The first plate I have to show you is Pueen Nature Lover 02. This plate features some beautiful floral designs, leaves and butterflies. I was drawn to the image on the bottom right the most.
This look is very subtle and delicate though the stamp was more obvious in person than it is in photos. You can see it a bit better in the close-up though!
For this mani I started with Anna Gorelova 43 July as my base. Then I stamped using Color4Nails x Celestial Pearl and finished with top coat.
The next plate is Pueen Geo Lover 02. This one has some beautiful geometric images. It was tough choosing which one to stamp so I asked some of my friends in FB group chat which one I should go and Jae suggested the interlocking bow stamp, third from the left on the top row so that’s what I went with! (After a failed attempt with the top left image, haha)
In hindsight this image would have looked very cool if I had reverse stamped it and filled in some of the bows. But I still like how these turned out!
I started with Pahlish Lofiest Muse as my base and applied two coats of Pahlish Wild Air (the new March duo, swatches coming up on Thursday!). Then I stamped using B. Loves Plates B. A Twilight on my middle and ring finger. On my pointer and pinkie I painted two dots using a dotting tool and the same polish. Finished with top coat.
The third plate is Pueen Fancy Lover 02. This is a bit of a random mix of images. There’s a lace print, filigree, retro wallpaper, a bit of everything. I used the top left and bottom right image in my manicure.
These are a bit different but somehow I really enjoyed how it turned out. The horizontal stripe is kind of random but it somehow tied the whole look together. What do you think?
I started with A England Merlin as my base on all nails. I stamped on all nails using Girly Bits Little Black Dress except my middle finger where I painted a horizontal line using ORLY Instant Artist in Jet Black. Finished with matte top coat.
The final plate is Pueen Fairytale Lover 02. This has a bit of everything as well, strawberries, hearts, cherries, owls, a windmill, musical notes, Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow. I ended up using the fifth image from the left on the top row, a random swirly design.
I used three of the Born Pretty Store stamping polishes. I’ve had the entire line sitting in my to-try pile but haven’t gotten around to them yet. I figured I would test some of them to see how they hold up over black and I was so impressed! How opaque are they?! The only thing is the strong smell which leads me to suspect they are not 3-free. By the way, fun fact! The chinese symbols on the label says “stamping nail polish”. 🙂
I started with Cirque Colors Memento Mori as my base on all nails. Then I stamped using Born Pretty Store Stamping Polish in shade 9 (pale blue), 14 (pink) and 16 (pastel pink). Finished with top coat!
You can purchase the Pueen Love Box Stamping Set 02 via the official website. It’s currently available for $18.99 which is a pretty great deal considering you get 4 plates and a stamper/scraper. Bought separately these products have a total value of over $25.
