I’ve announced it on my Facebook page, but not yet on my blog. So here it is: I’m so happy to share with you that I am a guru for Nail Art Society! 😀 Nail Art Society (or NAS for short) is a US monthly nail art subscription box. Each month, the other gurus and myself will be sharing looks created with the products, how-to’s or demos. Today I’ll be showing you a look I created with some of the products you’ll find in the upcoming kit!
One of the things you’ll find in the August kit are Orly Instant Artist Stripers. These particular ones are water-based (which makes it super easy to fix mistakes!) and the shades are black, white (both must-haves in anyone’s nail art kit!), silver and a royal blue. Now, I loved these SO much that my review might sound a little biased. These are genuinely the best stripers I have EVER tried. But I promise you, I wasn’t paid by anyone to say this 😀 The brushes and formula are simply perfection!
I wanted to put my linework skills to the test so I created this geometrical design, inspired by the Queen of Nail Art, Chelsea King! 😀 Her work is a huge inspiration to me. I have to say, I would never have been able to create such flawless lines if it wasn’t for the ah-mazing brush that comes in the Orly Instant Artist stripers. They are a real dream to work with! They are really fine and tapered to a sharp point.
I didn’t use any nail polishes whatsoever for this look (except for top coat) and only used the Orly stripers to create my design. They are so pigmented! As you can see in the image above, they dry to a matte finish. I took about a hundred pictures of my manicure before I added top coat because I was so scared to smudge my work. 😀
Here’s my quick tip to prevent your manicure from smudging: Firstly, load up your top coat brush with enough product. Use the lightest touch possible and try not to touch your nail with the actual brush, only allowing the top coat to flow across the nail. Don’t go over the same spot twice and use a swift and soft motion to cover the entire nail.
And here’s my manicure with a nice coat of Seche Vite to add some shine! I’m so proud of how it turned out, but the Orly Instant Artist stripers definitely made it a lot easier for me. They are must-haves for any (beginning) nail artist! I am so excited that these will be included in the Nail Art Society kits, I’m certain everyone will love them!
I definitely recommend you to take a look at the Nail Art Society site and perhaps subscribe! You’ll get high quality items for only $9.95 a month (+ 4.95 shipping). At the moment it’s still US-only but I will make an announcement as soon as they are open internationally! 🙂 Any questions, let me know!
