I mention in yesterday’s post that I’d be having a little break this week. Well, today I have the first guest post to share with you. One of the first people that came to my mind to ask was Lindsey from Wondrously Polished. I have so much admiration for her and she just has the most unique and mindblowing intricate style. Her work inspires and amazes me so much. I’m really honoured she agreed to guest post for me today. Let’s take a look at what she created!
Hello, all! I’m Lindsey and I run a little nail art blog called Wondrously Polished! I am beyond thrilled to be posting for Emily today and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her through this guest posting process. She’s pretty great!
I enjoy doing a wide variety of nail art, but more than anything, floral nail art is where my heart lies. I really like painting funky patterns with lots of detail so when I came across this pattern on Pinterest, I had to give it a shot!
I used a base of Color Club’s Look, Don’t Tusk (which is the perfect ivory shade!) and then I painted the outlines of each flower and leaf with a teeny tiny trimmed down detail brush and black acrylic paint.
I’ve found that using black acrylic paint rather than black nail polish is a must for detailed work. More times than not, I’ve spent an absurd amount of time working on a look, only to have my top coat smear the black nail polish and ruin the design. It’s devastating when that happens so I’m a convert to acrylic paint instead.
With the outlines complete, the coloring began! I painted the flower petals and leaves with various acrylic paints then added a top coat and a matte top coat to finish off the look.
And that’s it! I hope you enjoyed this look and a huge thank you to Emily for having me on her blog for the day! Thanks for reading and happy polishing!
Well I don’t know about you but my mind is blown! Lindsey, you are a wizard! Thank you so much for this gorgeous floral nail art. You are my floral queen! Also, that Color Club ivory base just jumped to the top of my wishlist. How unique is that colour? I’m so happy I asked Lindsey, we got chatting and she is totally awesome. I totally have a bit of a girlcrush on her but don’t tell her I said that. 🙂
Please show Wondrously Polished some love on social media. You can find Lindsey on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google+, Bloglovin’ and YouTube. And make sure to stop by her blog for flawless nail art and swatches!
