Seems like I was on a bit of a swatch marathon for the past few weeks now! I really hope you don’t mind!… Nail polish swatches are probably my favourite thing to do right now. I enjoy the process and I always find looking at the finished post really satisfactory. 😀 Nail art has taken a step back in my life recently, finding inspiration isn’t always easy when life is difficult but I am going to make some extra efforts to do more nail art in the future. Starting from now! *good resolutions*
First up are these nails that were inspired by well.. many things! My first inspiration was my dear friend Kattleya who created these stunning triangle nails, then my other dear friend Megs did these nails, then I saw this awesome tutorial by Gimimimi and then finally the new colours of my blog theme inspired the colour scheme for this manicure. 😀
For the nail on my middle finger I used Gimimimi’s tutorial. I’ve never been very successful with tape manis or striping tape so I was definitely a bit anxious when trying these out. I’m happy to say it came out really great! I wasn’t expecting it to be so easy. Success! 😀 On my pinkie I used the same technique as my middle finger, but reversed! So starting with a colourful base and sponging white on top. Then on my pointer, ring finger and thumb I freehanded some geometric designs with a Stripe Rite by It’s So Easy.
I used solely Hello Kitty Glow In the Dark polishes for this manicure (except for the white striper of course), which are available at Born Pretty Store. They are definitely some of my favourite polishes to use. The formula is so great! I used shades 01 (white), 17 (pink), 28 (turquoise), 27 (purple) and 26 (bluish purple). The top coat I used was China Glaze Fast Forward.
Anyway I hope you like these! I’m really happy with how they turned out. Especially the design on my pinkie finger. Definitely my favourite!
p.s. I contacted my giveaway winners today. I’ll post the announcement when all 5 prizes have been claimed. Thanks for entering everyone!
