I’m back with my regular Nail Art Monday post! These are nails I did a little while ago but I wore them for almost a full week. I got so many compliments, which was funny considering these were basically just doodles and I wasn’t even planning on posting them. 😀 Let’s take a look!
I did these when I just got my stamping supplies from Born Pretty Store so I was quickly trying it all out, but my skills were still super basic. I used Dance Legend Grey Britain (swatch here) as a base and stamped over it with a white stamping polish and used the Born Pretty Store QA81 plate that has a few houndstooth prints. It came out pretty sloppy! It definitely did not come out perfect, entirely down to my n00b skills. 😀 So I figured, let’s paint something over it!
I had this cute Cath Kidson address book lying on my desk and took inspiration from the floral print on the cover. I started with China Glaze Mimosa’s Before Manis as the “base” for the flowers using just the brush inside the bottle, added some darker spots with China Glaze Passion For Petals, then I added detail with my ORLY Instant Artist stripers in Jet Black and Crisp White. For the leaves I used a fine nail art brush and China Glaze Def Defying (I think). Finished everything with glossy top coat!
I don’t know how but floral print seems to look good over any base, a solid colour, a print, it just always seems to work. I wasn’t completely sold on these at first but after getting so many compliments these definitely grew on me. I totally loved them by the end of the week and was sad to take them off again.
I hope you like them! Let me know in the comments what you think. 🙂
