Today I’m sharing swatches of the new China Glaze Sea Goddess collection! This is a Spring collection featuring 6 new texture shades. There will be a full Spring collection too so this is a little specialty collection to get us excited about the new season. This collection is all about the ocean, mermaids and hidden treasures!
All photos were taken after about 5-10 minutes of application. The full texture effect takes anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours to appear, due to the use of several coats. In my experience they look prettiest the next day. :) Let’s take a look!
China Glaze – Sand Dolla Make You Holla: First up is this pale lavender texture with pink, blue, gold and silver glitter. The base is quite sheer as I used three coats and there is still a little bit of VNL. I really loved the softness of this one however. It’s very pretty and the fine glitter is beautiful, reminds me of cupcakes and frosting!
China Glaze – Wish On A Starfish: Next up is this gorgeous pale pink with tons of irregular gold shimmer. I absolutely adore this one! The gold shimmer is really stunning and I’m so glad it shows up in my photo! I don’t tend to go for pink shades but this one is really very pretty and not too in-your-face. This was three thin coats.
China Glaze – Shell We Dance: This is a darker pink with very fine silver shimmer and small fuchsia glitter. The silver shimmer really adds a lot of sparkle to this one. You get a very sugar-y effect! Application was good, I used two coats.
China Glaze – Tail Me Something: Next up is this gorgeous lavender purple texture with tons of fine silver shimmer and purple glitter. The fine silver shimmer gives this a bit of a foil effect. I never used to be a big fan of purple but somehow I am very into them lately! Especially these lavender types of purple. This one is gorgeous! I used two coats.
China Glaze – Seahorsin’ Around: This is the star of the show for me! This amazing ocean blue has lots of gold irregular shimmer and it’s mindblowingly vibrant! It reminds me of tropical beaches, cocktails and summer vacations. It’s even brighter and sparklier in person! This one is a must-have! I used two coats.
China Glaze – Teal The Tide Turns: And finally we have this mint green texture with green glitter. You all know I’m a huge mint green lover but this one was my least favourite sadly! I struggled with the formula a little and dry time wasn’t great. I think perhaps I would have loved this if it had gold shimmer instead of the green glitter. This was three coats.
That concludes my swatches of the China Glaze Sea Goddess collection for Spring 2014. There’s a few really gorgeous textures in this collection. I’m still a fan of texture polishes but I was personally more into the Crinkled Chromes, for a higher unique-factor and amazing one-coat formula. My top three are Seahorsin’ Around, Wish On A Starfish and Tail Me Something, in that order. Which are your favourites? Let me know in the comments!
