Today I’m sharing swatches of the new China Glaze Crinkled Chrome collection! When I first saw this collection, well… I wasn’t quite sure what to think! I personally really love the texture trend so I was very intrigued to say the least. With this collection, China Glaze decided to mix a metallic finish with texture finish, creating a whole new effect we haven’t seen before! Let’s take a look at the shades first.
From left to right: Aluminate – Wrinkling The Sheets – Don’t Be Foiled – Iron Out Details – Crush, Crush, Baby – I’m A Chromantic.
As you can see, we have a silver shade and a range of subtle pastel metallics. The colours are absolutely stunning I have to say! The coverage is also amazing, all of my swatches are just ONE COAT. I wasn’t expecting them to cover so nicely. I have long nails so I often tend to need an extra coat of nail polish to cover my white free edge, but not with these. The pigmentation is incredible! I loved the formula as well, they were very easy to work with. Especially compared to other texture polishes, these gave me almost no trouble at all. Let’s take a look at the swatches!
China Glaze – Aluminate: The texture effect of the Crinkled Chrome collection includes fine bar glitter as well as regular texture particles. I think it adds a really nice effect to the texture polishes. This silver is probably my favourite out of the collection. I love it! I didn’t shake up my bottle prior to swatching, so the texture effect is slightly more subtle with this one.
China Glaze – Wrinkling The Sheets: Next is a very soft and subtle pale green metallic. This collection is so futuristic. They would work absolutely wonderful as an accent nail too. Instead of your typical glitter accent nail, slap on a layer of Crinkled Chrome and you’re good to go! 😀 Instantly spices up your manicure!
China Glaze – Don’t Be Foiled: Next is a really beautiful metallic teal-y green. It’s neither a true green nor a true blue, it’s somewhere in the middle. This is probably my second favourite colour! It’s the most unique one out of all the colours. Very beautiful.
China Glaze – Iron Out Details: Next is a gorgeous metallic blue. This was the only one that give me a bit of trouble during application. It was somewhat on the thicker side making it a bit harder to apply, I didn’t have any issues with the other shades. I’m sure a few drops of thinner would help it! The texture effect still came out great regardless.
China Glaze – Crush, Crush, Baby: Then we have the purple metallic! Another really stunning one. As much as I love this collection, I think these would be a huge hit if they were made into regular (non-texture) metallics too. They would be great for those who love stamping, the pigmentation and coverage is so incredible. I can’t think of any other true one-coaters besides these polishes. So amazing!
China Glaze – I’m A Chromantic: And finally the pink metallic! The name of this one is so adorable too. 😀 I’m not a huge fan of pink but this one is very wearable due to its subtlety. Very pretty! I also have to add that these dried incredibly fast for texture polishes. I feel with most textures, they need a good few hours to fully dry and “develop”, these needed around a minute?! As you only need one coat, they make a great last-minute manicure. You’re literally out the door in seconds!
Anyway, I’m personally a huge fan of these. The colours are incredibly beautiful and subtle. The texture effect works great, dries fast and you only need one coat. They’re almost too good to be true! If you love texture effects I can totally recommend this collection. My personal favourites are Aluminate and Don’t Be Foiled, but every single one is gorgeous. I cannot wait to use them as accent nails or in a nail art manicure!
