My posting may be a bit irregular this week, I’m not feeling great so I’ve been a bit behind with reviews and swatching. Hope you’ll bear with me!
I’m really excited to share some new Bundle Monster plates with you today! They’ve been killing it lately (remember the gorgeous Around The World collection I showed you recently?) and this latest collection is so beautiful. It features 10 square plates with delicate floral, paisley and line patterns. Let’s take a look!
This is the full Shangri-La collection. Ten square plates each sized 5 x 5 cm with a full image covering the whole plate. The designs range from swirly patterns to paisley-inspired, florals and some geometric looking prints. They’re absolutely beautiful, I would perhaps loved to have seen an inverted image in there too, (which is when your stamping polish fills the background rather than the line drawing, if that makes any sense?) but this collection as a whole is still quite versatile which I’ve tried to show you today. Let’s take a look!
I really wanted to do a monochrome mani with this collection. For me, nothing beats black and white nail art. It’s just such beautiful contrast and this ended up looking like I was wearing nail wraps almost. I couldn’t stop staring at the intricate design! I used plate BM-S108 which my boyfriend said reminded him of Van Gogh’s Starry Night, I can definitely see that.
I started with Cirque Colors Carpe Diem as a base and stamped using Mundo De Unas Black. Ignore the slight smearing, I was impatient with my top coat and applied it too quickly. As you can see from the first image you could barely tell in person, but alas macros highlight every single imperfection. I finished with Super Chic Lacquer Marvel top coat.
My next mani is probably the complete opposite of the first one. 😀 Glitter and rainbows! I tried a technique I’ve seen online a few times which is layer sheer jellies over a sparkly glitter. I feel like the glitter is somewhat hidden so I’m not sure if I applied my jellies too opaquely or if there’s just too much going on. What do you think? I used plate BM-S104 for this mani which has more open spaces than the other plates in this collection.
I started with Floss Gloss Dimepiece as my base and applied random jellies to my nails. I mostly used the China Glaze Sunsational collection jellies and some discontinued BK polishes from Born Pretty Store. Stamped with Mundo De Unas black and finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.
Finally I went with a reverse/advanced stamping manicure which is what Bundle Monster suggests is the ideal technique to use this collection for. I used the plate BM-S110 for this design as it has some tribal looking prints that I loved.
I started with a base of Cirque Colors Carpe Diem then used the reverse stamping technique to fill in my design. I stamped it with Mundo De Unas Black (I only just noticed I used black stamping for all my designs today, interesting!) and filled in with three colours by Moo Moo’s Signatures, Bunny Returns, Oh Lolly and Don’t Take Lollipop From Strange (swatches of these new releases coming very soon!). Applied the stamping decal onto my nail then removed the excess with a brush dipped in acetone and finished the look with Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.
You can purchase Bundle Monster plates via their official website. The Shangri-La set costs $11.99 for ten square plates or you can buy these individually priced at $2.49. I really adored these plates, what do you think of this collection?
