Today I’m sharing a girly post featuring some wonderful studs from KKCenterHK. The studs I’m showing you are large heart shaped studs. The ones I tried are white hearts but you can also find them in pink, and similar heart shaped studs in gold, silver, pink and red. These white heart studs are $5 for which you get around 50 pcs. Let’s take a look!

The studs are 6mm in size, so they’re quite large. They’re also pretty flat, so if you have curvy nail beds (like me!) make sure to slightly bend the studs. You can simply place them on a rounded surface like a pencil or use the handle of a nail art brush as a mould to bend the studs slightly, using your fingers. I hope that makes sense!
This way the stud lays nice and flat on your nail without sticking out at the sides and catching onto stuff!

Here’s the manicure I created using the heart studs! I thought the white looked really pretty and delicate so I went with a very girly design. The base colour is 2 coats of American Apparel L’Esprit which is a lovely pale lavender shade. On my index finger I created a white half moon with 2mm pearls around it, on my ring finger I freehanded a lace design using my white It’s So Easy striper and on my pinkie I added a simple white polka dot.
Hope you like it! You can find the white heart studs at KKCenterHK for $5 per pack. Make sure to check out KKCenterHK for lots of awesome nail decorations and Asian cosmetics. Don’t forget to use my coupon code “veryemily” for a 10% discount on your order! Enjoy!

Today I’m back with another review featuring The New Black! This time I am sharing one of their lovely Typography sets featuring the newspaper nails technique. This was my first time trying out newspaper nails and I have to say it was a lot of fun! And surprisingly a lot easier than I thought, especially with this handy kit! Let’s take a look.

The New Black Typography kit comes with transfer solution, a base colour, top coat and tons of sheets of transfer paper, ten in total! Ten sheets are more than enough to last you around 10-15 manicures. This particular kit is the Weekly Journal kit and comes with a nude base colour. The other two Typography kits, Times Late Edition and Daily News feature a grey and white base colour respectively.

The transfer paper has some nice encouraging words on it, such as Happy, Dream, Live, Faith, Love, Passion,… Definitely more fun than having some random newspaper article on your nails.

This is the lovely base colour that comes in The New Black Weekly Journal kit. I am absolutely in love with this shade. It’s the perfect nude colour! This was just two coats, the coverage was absolutely flawless. It glided on like butter. I desperately want a full-size of this, and a back-up bottle or three.

Here’s how the application process works:
- Apply your base colour and wait for it to thoroughly dry.
- Grab the transfer solution and apply a generous coat on one nail at a time.
- Take a piece of transfer paper, cut to size so it fits your nail and place on top of your wet nail.
- Apply more transfer solution over the top and press the paper down on your nail with your fingers.
- Carefully add top coat, done!
Like I said, this was my first time trying newspaper nails. I think I had great results for a first try! The words transferred nicely on my nails, though I did mistakenly turn over the last two so the words are upside down. And also slightly smudged the top coat on my middle finger. Oops!

I wanted to spice it up a little so I added two large square studs on my ring finger as an accent nail. You can find the studs in The New Black Rebel Edge set (review coming soon!). I wore this manicure for over a week with barely any chips! I couldn’t bring myself to removing it since I thought it looked so pretty, so I waited until the very last minute.
After eight days, some tip wear and a few minor chips it was time to grab my polish remover.

You can find this lovely The New Black Weekly Journal set on their website for €24.95. The quality of The New Black nail polish is absolutely impressive, I’ve had amazing results in terms of wear and application. I highly recommend you to check them out! If you’re in the US you’ll find these awesome sets in stores like Urban Outfitters, but recently the European ladies can get their hands on The New Black too. Make sure to check out their site for all the details.

I have a really cute Spring-appropriate post for you today. For a few weeks I had this idea in my head to create nail art inspired by those amazing floral studded iPhone cases I kept seeing around. The lovely people at KKCenterHK sent me some gorgeous studs so I figured this was the perfect time to try out this design!

These are the nail polishes I used:
- OPI My Vampire Is Buff
- OPI Suzi’s Hungary Again
- China Glaze Budding Romance
- OPI Black Onyx
- China Glaze Snow
- China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat

And these are the gorgeous 2mm studs I used! They are available at KKCenterHK for $4.74. Above is the total amount you get which is around 50 pieces. I do find these a little pricey for the small amount of studs, but they are really stunning and nice quality. These in particular are a beautiful warm orange-toned gold and are completely smooth and round which I thought was very pretty.

I’m really pleased with how these nails turned out! They turned out almost exactly like I had them in mind. I am really excited I finally got to try out OPI My Vampire Is Buff as a base colour for a nail art design. It’s such a wonderful shade! Floral nails are one of my favourite designs to do and I think the studs compliment them beautifully.
I hope you like them! Let me know in the comments.

Sorry for my absence during the past few days… I’ve been sick in bed, I still am while writing this. Pretty frustrating since I had so many exciting posts planned! I guess you’ll just have to be patient with me for a little longer!
Anyway these are some really simple but fun nails I did last week. I used one of the new Born Pretty Store nail polishes from the BK Crystal Sand collection. I ended up wearing this mani for almost a week, it lasted 4 full days on me before it started to chip. Needless to say I was hugely impressed with the wear of this BK polish!

I used two coats of the BK Crystal Sand polish in #17, it was pretty much a one-coater though. Mine did need a bit of polish thinner but that’s not the end of the world. It was nice and opaque which I enjoy in black polishes. It has a beautiful silver shimmer to it, it almost reminded me of stars in the night sky. Very pretty! It has a matte and slightly gritty finish but I added plenty of top coat to make sure it was nice and glossy.

On the accent nail I added a bow using 2mm round studs and gold heart studs. I saw this idea on Liquid Jelly‘s blog and loved it, so I simply had to try it myself! Simple nail art can often be the most effective. I really loved wearing this! I hope you like it as well.

Today I have a review on some gorgeous purple studs from the online store KKCenterHK. They only recently started selling studs so this is one of their new arrivals. They have so many amazing colours and shapes to choose from so make sure to check out their range if you love studs!

The purple studs come in a ziplock bag and each bag contains about 50 pieces. Prices range between $4-5 per bag. Not the cheapest studs I have tried but these are really beautiful and unique.

Here you can see a close-up of the studs! How gorgeous are these?! They’re purple but have a beautiful sparkly geometric design on them. I’m not really sure how to describe it, but it’s almost like a holographic rainbow effect. The rainbow shifts when you move them around. Really pretty! The size of these studs is 3mm so they are about medium sized.

Here’s a simple look I made with the purple studs. The base colour I used is a beautiful lavender shade, China Glaze Light As Air. Studs are probably my favourite nail art decoration. They are so easy to use but look really awesome. Perfect for people who are nail art beginners too! They require no skill and they always look great!
Make sure to check out the KKCenterHK website to see the full range of studs as well as other awesome nail art supplies. If you decide to order with them make sure to use my coupon code, “VERYEMILY” gives you 10% off your order! Yay!

I have some super simple stud nails today! I did these inspired by a pair of studded boots I got at River Island not too long ago. I have a huge weakness for anything with studs! They just make anything look awesome. I love that I can add studs to my nails. They are probably my favourite nail art item, something I think every girl should own! If they like the look of studs of course.
Everything I used to create this mani are items I got from Born Pretty Store. Here’s a list of all the products I used:

Today’s nail art features the sugar spun technique I saw over at my friends’ blogs Chalkboard Nails and Just Tis Ems. It’s a tricky technique but very fun to do! Emmie made a really great tutorial for it which you can see here.

My result looks very 3D which is something you either hate or love. I’m quite fond of the end result, even though I wish my lines turned out thinner. I definitely need to practice more!
I’m really in love with the colour scheme, the matte nude base with the neon lines and studs works really great I think! Finally I had the perfect manicure for which I could use my pink neon studs from Born Pretty Store. They were sitting in my Helmer drawers for weeks waiting to be used. They are a lot more neon in person, I highly recommend them, they are super awesome!
These are the products I used for my manicure:
- Catrice – Nude (from the FeMALE limited edition)
- China Glaze – Love’s A Beach
- Pink Neon Studs
Yes that’s right, no top coat! This technique looks a million times better without top coat (in my opinion) so make sure to resist the urge!
Hope you like it!

Remember the post I wrote about Phoenix Beauty lounge not too long ago? I have another one of their products to show you today! This time I have three nail art wheels that are full of gorgeous stuff! Let’s take a look at each of them individually.

First up this wheel with dried flowers. It comes with 12 vibrant colours and you get two flowers of each shade. I’m always so hesitant to use dried flowers since they are just so darn pretty! The turquoise ones are definitely my favourites.

Next is this stud wheel! These studs are so full of awesome. It comes with squares, triangles, rectangles, circles, hearts, stars and so much more. The choice is unbelievable! They are seriously cool. I haven’t seen studs like these around, I cannot wait to use them!

Lastly is this gold/silver wheel that comes with chains, ball chains, metal rings and a rhinestone chain. If you’re looking to try chains, these are absolutely perfect for nail art! Just the right size and they are super easy to use. If you look at my banner, the turquoise chain nail was done with chains from this nail art wheel!
You can find these nail art wheels at Phoenix Beauty Lounge for $3.99 a wheel. They have plenty more awesome nail art wheels with pearls, rhinestones, fimo slices and even 3D flowers. I definitely recommend you to take a look at their site! If you place an order with them you can use my code EmilyVIP which gets you an amazing 15% off discount! If you have any questions for them don’t hesitate to contact the owner Liliana, who is an absolute sweetheart. You can find them here on Facebook as well!

A quick but fun nail art mani today! I am hugely in love with Ami V./El Salonsito‘s spray paint nails so I did them again. I just couldn’t resist! They are so quick and fun but really gorgeous. A really thin striper or brush is the key to these. Just blob on the colours and then add the drips!
These are the polishes I used:
- China Glaze Midnight Kiss
- Catrice Absolutely Chinchilly
- It’s So Easy Stripe Rite in Black
- Dearlee 034 Black
For the two accent nails I used 4mm gold square studs from Born Pretty Store. The black polish is also from BPS, it’s opaque in one layer and glides on like a dream. One of the best black polishes I’ve tried!

You have no idea how much I’ve been itching to post these! I did these about two weeks ago but as a few other blogposts had higher priority these were on hold in my queue! I really love how these look, it’s so unique and different.
These were as the title says, inspired by Madeline Poole. I don’t think this style of nails has an official name yet, there’s a few floating around but some of them are a bit racy haha. I had been dying to try these but my first attempt was somewhat unsuccessful, when I saw Madeline post her tutorial I thought I’d give these another go. The trick is to first do the outline and then paint the colour! Who’d have guessed?
I used a black striper and Essie Van D’Go, on the accent nails there’s 1.5mm silver studs by Born Pretty Store.
