As you may have noticed if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, I’ll be continuing with a weekly piCture pOlish swatch-athon! I asked you which one you’d like to see first, and piCture pOlish Gene Doll got most votes, so here it is! Gene Doll is a beautiful purple glitter best suited for layering. Rather than showing you one layering option I’m sharing SIX layering combinations! Yay!
I used one coat of piCture pOlish Gene Doll and no top coat for each of these layering combinations. I paired Gene Doll with a white, black, gold, purple, blue and green. My favourite layering combos are the white and pale blue, they really make the glitter pop! Let’s take a look.

piCture pOlish Gene Doll layered over China Glaze Snow.

piCture pOlish Gene Doll layered over OPI Onyx.

piCture pOlish Gene Doll layered over Barry M Foil Effects in Gold.

piCture pOlish Gene Doll layered over Barry M Bright Purple.

piCture pOlish Gene Doll layered over piCture pOlish Sky.

piCture pOlish Gene Doll layered over China Glaze Def Defying.
As you can see, the layering possibilities are endless! You can go quite subtle if you layer it over black or purple, or you can opt for a bright contrasting combination with white, blue or green. The tagline of this one is “tapping toes like Mr Kelly”, referring to Gene Kelly, the famous actor and dancer.
Which layering combination would you go for? Let me know in the comments!
You can find Gene Doll for AU$9.50 on the piCture pOlish website. Make sure to check out their network page to find an online store near you. If you are in Belgium or the Netherlands, you can take a look at PrettyPolish.nl!

I have a review for you today on one of the more recent products at Born Pretty Store! I love Born Pretty Store for their nail decorations and polishes but they offer so many more amazing products. Today I’m sharing a product of their skin care range. Let’s take a look!

This is the Shea Butter Hand Cream. What instantly drew me to this product was the packaging. It comes in a beautiful and elegant box, which you slide open to reveal the hand cream. Hand cream is something I try to use as much as possible. Now with the colder weather especially, it’s very important to keep your hands moisturized!

The packaging feels and looks very luxurious. The hand cream comes in a tube which has the same ballerina pattern on it as the box. Isn’t it gorgeous?
It looks so beautiful standing on your desk or table. And it’s the perfect size to keep in your bag too!
What I love most about this Shea Butter Hand Cream is that it feels ah-mazing on the skin. I hate having dry hands but what I dislike even more is a sticky hand cream. This product sinks into your skin immediately and stops your skin from feeling dry. On the site the description says “forms a layer of protective film” which is very accurate. It’s tricky to describe, but it instantly makes my hands feel better without being sticky.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the scent of this sadly, it reminded me of a powdery play-doh or paint-like smell. It’s subtle enough so it doesn’t bother me too much. It definitely doesn’t stop me from using it as it feels SO nice on my hands! I will definitely have to pick up the two other scents though! This hand cream is also available in polygonatum scent and green tea scent.
This Shea Butter Hand Cream is available on the Born Pretty Store website for $7.32. I really love this hand cream, it feels simply amazing. Definitely worth the price tag in my opinion! Don’t forget to save some money on your order with my coupon code, EMILYW21 gives you 10% off!

So I’m back today with another blogpost, this time I’m reviewing products from online store KKCenterHK. They have an amazing range of nail decals but I’m personally a HUGE fan of their make-up! I was incredibly impressed with their single eyeshadows from the brand Cuicu and today I’m reviewing loose eyeshadow pigments from the brand Love Alpha.

Love Alpha is a brand that’s completely new to me, but I instantly fell in love with the packaging when I saw it on the site. There’s 18 different shades in total, I picked three shades that caught my attention.

From left to right: Light baby blue No. 09, Dark Navy Blue No. 08, Gold No. 13.

Check out this pigmentation! WOW! I swatched these on my hand, without eyeshadow base. I was completely blown away when I first swatched these. They are incredibly opaque and easy to use. A little product goes a long way!

Here’s an eyeshadow look I created using just the three Love Alpha pigments. I used the gold on the inner corner, the light blue on the lid and the navy blue in the crease. Capturing eyeshadow looks is so tricky!
It’s really hard to translate to pictures, I thought this looked much nicer in person but I hope the picture still shows how beautiful these pigments are.
You can find Love Alpha eyeshadow pigments on the KKCenterHK website, not only are they amazing quality but they’re only $3.94 a piece. They hold 8 grams of product so you are getting a great deal! If you order with KKCenterHK, make sure to save some money by using my 5% discount code: “VERYEMILY”.
Do you like using loose eyeshadow pigments? Or do you prefer regular eyeshadows? Let me know in the comments!

Today I have a review on these two brush sets by Real Techniques. I’ve been swooning over them for ages now, and when I saw Teri from the blog Bella Chique ordered them on Amazon, I decided to take the plunge and order these with my birthday money! I couldn’t be happier with them. They are simply amazing!

The two sets I got are called the “Core Collection” (on the left) and “Starter Set” (on the right). They come with a multipurpose black brush roll which you can fold so the brushes sit up on your desk as pictured.

The Core Collection set comes with the following full-size brushes:
- Contour Brush: This brush is perfect for applying contouring, blusher, bronzer. It’s super soft! As are all the brushes. They feel amazing on the skin.
- Pointed Foundation Brush: This is a small pointed brush, can be used for foundation but I like to use it for concealer as well.
- Detailer Brush: This detailer brush can be used for applying concealer and lipstick.
- Buffing Brush: This large brush is perfect for buffing in your (powder) foundation or applying setting powder. I simply love this brush! It’s so soft! I really like the shape and size as well, it’s simply perfect.

The Starter Set comes with the following full-size brushes:
- Deluxe Crease Brush: Say hello to the best blending brush I’ve ever laid my hands on! Simply.. Wow! When I first saw this brush I thought it would be too large for my small lids but it’s just perfect! It blends your eyeshadow flawlessly. This is probably my favourite brush out of all of them!
- Base Shadow Brush: This shadow brush is great for applying colour but also for more precise blending.
- Accent Brush: This small brush is great for smudging eyeliner or applying highlight in the inner corners. It’s very precise!
- Pixel-Point Eyeliner Brush: This is the eyeliner brush in the set. I haven’t tried this yet but I might use this for lips as well!
- Brow Brush: This brush is meant for applying eyebrow powder. I am used to using stiffer brushes for eyebrows so I had to get used to using this brush, but the results have been great so I love it!

If you watch make-up tutorials on YouTube I’m certain you’ve come across the girls from Pixiwoo. The brushes were designed by one of the Pixiwoo sisters, Samantha Chapman. She and her sister are both professional make-up artists, they’re probably my favourite YouTubers! They have so many amazing videos and are full of great ideas, creativity and tips. I highly recommend their videos!

I’m so glad I took the plunge and ordered these. They are amazing quality brushes and the price is very reasonable too. I paid £15 per set and got a free shipping deal on the Amazon.co.uk site. My order arrived in just two days!
Have you tried Real Techniques brushes? Let me know in the comments!

Today I’ll be talking about two lovely perfumes from the brand Corine de Farme. This fall the brand is launching two perfumes under the name C. de Farme Paris, and the perfumes will be called Leçon de Séduction N°1 and N°2. As the name suggests, they are both quite sultry scents. Though they are also very feminine, floral and fruity.

I personally thought N°1 (pictured left) was more suitable for during the day, while N°2 (pictured right) is perfect for a hot date or night on the town. N°2 is definitely sexier, while N°1 is softer. I’m a very picky person when it comes to perfumes and to my own surprise I was a fan of both these scents. They are lovely but not overpowering.

Aren’t the bottles absolutely stunning? I love the black bows on the caps. I’m such a sucker for beautiful packaging.

Leçon de Séduction N°1:
- Top Notes: Mandarin Orange, Cranberry, Pink Pepper
- Middle Notes: Rose, Violet, Ploom
- Base Notes: Patchouli, Vanilla, Praline
Leçon de Séduction N°2:
- Top Notes: Orange, Raspberry
- Middle Notes: Jasmine, Orange Blossom
- Base Notes: Patchouli, Vanilla, Amber

My personal favourite? I’d have to say N°1. I’m not usually a fan of heavier perfumes though I love N°2, N°1 is simply impossible to resist! What else is great about these perfumes? The price! They are super affordable at just €9.95 for a 50ml bottle. You can find these at Di, Traffic and Cora and online. Thanks again to the lovely Julie for allowing me to try these!
What’s your favourite perfume at the moment? Let me know in the comments!

Today I’ll be reviewing the bright eyeliner pencils from Born Pretty Store! They are my go-to nail art supply but lately I’ve been really loving their beauty products. They have so much great stuff!

The eyeliners come in packs of six pencils, there are two different sets available. The set I received has black, purple, red, orange, green and white. They come with a clear blue cap to protect the pencils.

The eyeliners have a subtle shimmery finish and they are really pigmented! I’m very pleased with the quality. They are soft and easy to use and the pigment is great. I love using them for a pop of colour underneath the lower lashline! The red shade could even double as a lip liner, or any of the other shades depending how adventurous you are.

As you can see from my swatch they all have a really nice pigmentation and subtle shimmer. The orange/copper shade is the most pigmented out of all of them. You can find these eyeliners pencils at Born Pretty Store‘s website for $5.99. Don’t forget to use my coupon code EMILYW21 to get a 10% discount on your order! Have you ever purchased beauty products from Born Pretty Store?

I have a review for you today on the brand Elegant Touch. They’re a UK based brand but their products are available worldwide! One of their products are press-on nail kits. I was sent three of these kits and I’m going to review one of them today! Two of the kits are Classic French nails (one being more pink based in colour, the other beige). The third kit is a matte pink which comes with a clear top coat so you can create funky matte/glossy designs.

No nails today, time for some make-up! These are a set of 6 glitter eyeliners from Born Pretty Store. I’ve been really into glitter/coloured eyeliner lately and when I saw these listed in the What’s New-page I simply had to try them! Not only is the packaging adorable, the product is inside is pretty great as well! Let’s find out more…

The brand of these eyeliners is called Lingmei, the same brand as the cute eyeliner dolls I posted about a while ago. There’s no information on the packaging so I’m not sure about ingredients or contents, but the eyeliners are pretty big so you get a lot of product!

The top swatches are the eyeliners on their own and the bottom ones are what they look like layered over black. In the set of six eyeliners you get a blueish silver, blue, purple, pink, silver and gold/orange. The glitters are more like flakies than actual glitter so you get a more shimmery metallic effect rather than glittery.

The brush is really thin and easy to work with! The product inside smells really nice too!
It’s not a typical make-up smell but it’s very pleasant and fresh.

This is me wearing the blue glitter liner on its own. I really love the effect! It definitely gives something extra to your eyes. It also lasted very well, I wore this the entire day and it still looked great in the evening. On my lashes I’m wearing Bourjois Effect Liner Mascara.
You can find this set of six eyeliners at Born Pretty Store for $8.77, so you’re paying about $1.46 per eyeliner. Pretty good right? You can save even more money using my coupon code, EMILYW21 which gets you 10% off your entire order.
p.s. Did you notice I’m using a new font for my watermark?
Hope you like it!

Remember the post I wrote about Phoenix Beauty lounge not too long ago? I have another one of their products to show you today! This time I have three nail art wheels that are full of gorgeous stuff! Let’s take a look at each of them individually.

First up this wheel with dried flowers. It comes with 12 vibrant colours and you get two flowers of each shade. I’m always so hesitant to use dried flowers since they are just so darn pretty! The turquoise ones are definitely my favourites.

Next is this stud wheel! These studs are so full of awesome. It comes with squares, triangles, rectangles, circles, hearts, stars and so much more. The choice is unbelievable! They are seriously cool. I haven’t seen studs like these around, I cannot wait to use them!

Lastly is this gold/silver wheel that comes with chains, ball chains, metal rings and a rhinestone chain. If you’re looking to try chains, these are absolutely perfect for nail art! Just the right size and they are super easy to use. If you look at my banner, the turquoise chain nail was done with chains from this nail art wheel!
You can find these nail art wheels at Phoenix Beauty Lounge for $3.99 a wheel. They have plenty more awesome nail art wheels with pearls, rhinestones, fimo slices and even 3D flowers. I definitely recommend you to take a look at their site! If you place an order with them you can use my code EmilyVIP which gets you an amazing 15% off discount! If you have any questions for them don’t hesitate to contact the owner Liliana, who is an absolute sweetheart. You can find them here on Facebook as well!

You all know how much I love pretty accessories and jewellery! I’ve featured some posts about jewellery before and today I have a review on a necklace from La Recherche Éternelle. My dear friend Cindy runs the store, she started it about three years ago selling handmade pieces. They recently branched out and are now selling a selection of pieces by other designers as well. All are hand-picked and super stunning! Cindy has amazing taste, there isn’t in one piece in her store I don’t love!

The necklace I chose is this stunning three tier stud necklace. It’s gold but has an antique, aged look to it which I really adore. The chain does have a slight metal smell, I’m quite sensitive to scents so maybe someone else wouldn’t notice but I thought it might be worth mentioning if you are sensitive too.

It falls at just the perfect length on me. The studs themselves are quite lightweight so the necklace is very comfortable to wear. It’s a stunning statement piece! I really love the style of it. Usually I feel overdressed when wearing necklaces like this but despite being quite bold, this necklace is very easy to wear and pull off.
You can buy this three tier stud necklace at La Recherche Éternelle for €18. They offer many more stunning pieces from earrings to totebags and other cool stuff! She is based in Belgium like me but she ships internationally and accepts payment through PayPal (or bank transfer if you’re in BE/NL). You can take a look at what she has to offer on the La Recherche Éternelle Facebook page. She kindly offered me a 10% coupon to give to my lovely readers, EMILY10%. Enjoy!
