Etos Haul

Yet another haul! I went to a little village called Hulst a while ago which is a few minutes from where I live. It’s always very busy in the weekends as a lot of Belgians go shopping there when shops are closed in Belgium on Sunday. There aren’t a lot of stores but they have a few drugstores so there’s always plenty of make-up and nail polish around! I went to Etos which is a drugstore we don’t have in Belgium and picked up a few items.
Only recently they launched a “new” brand called MNY which is Maybelinne’s low budget brand. MNY already existed in shops in Germany but now it’s come to the Netherlands as well, I hope Belgium will follow too because it really is a fun brand!
The first three polishes are effect nails by Etos, a blue, purple and silver with large hexagonal glitters. The next ones are by MNY (love the cute bottle caps!) and the colours are 673, 549 and 735. Too bad they have numbers instead of names, cute names make you remember polishes even better so that’s a missed opportunity for MNY there!
MNY polishes are €2,49 and Etos Effect Nails are €1,99.
All colours in one coat, as you can see the MNY’s aren’t one coaters and the effect nails don’t have a huge amount of glitter, I was hoping they would have a lot more.
These are all of them in three coats. The green 735 is a three coater, 549 is completely opaque in two and so is 673. At the end you can see the purple effect polish layered over a black, I will have a better picture of that soon!
- The first one, 735, I bought for my mum as she loves green, it’s pretty but not my style. The first layer feels very sheer but there’s no VNL (visible nail line) after 3 coats.
- The second one in line, 549, is supposedly a dupe for Chanel’s Paradoxal but it lacks the pink shimmer so they’re quite similar in indoor lighting but in direct sunlight you can tell the difference.
- The third one, 673, is definitely not your average black, it has flaky silver shimmer which make it really unique, I highly recommend it if you love wearing black and want something more special.
- The 3 Effect polishes are great for layering or for nail art, definitely not suitable to wear on its own. Layered over black they give a kind of nebula effect which is really cool!
I’m definitely liking the MNY colours but they’re not as opaque as the Catrice polishes. Catrice is also more value for money as their bottles have 10ml and the MNY’s have 7ml, they both cost the same. They’re still quite good for such a low price, so if you ever visit the Netherlands definitely keep your eyes open for MNY at Etos stores.

He Emily, misschien is die nieuwe 'cracked nailpolish' ook iets voor jou sinds je zo van nagellakjes houdt enzo?

Ben ik inderdaad al veel tegen gekomen, weet nog niet goed wat'k er van vind. Zal het eens op mijn eigen nagels moeten zien om mijn mening erover te vormen
