Polish Me Silly – Meet My Chromies Part I

16th January, 2014 - Posted by Emily - 2 Comments

Today I am sharing the new collection by Polish Me Silly (formerly known as Lush Lacquer). The talented and lovely ladies behind this brand, mother/daughter team Karin and Lexi are releasing a new collection which is called Meet My Chromies. As you’ve probably guessed, it’s a collection filled with dazzling duochromes and multichromes. Exciting!

As there are over 20 new shades in this collection (and I have more than 50 photos to share!!!) I decided to split up my post into three parts, leading up to the launch which is later today (7PM PST). I’ll be posting the next part in a few hours so stay tuned! The first part includes the six duochrome lacquers.

Polish Me Silly – Metal Mama (3 coats on its own)

Polish Me Silly – Metal Mama (2 coats over black)

Polish Me Silly – Metal Mama: First up is Metal Mama, my favourite out of the duochromes! It’s a stunning deep brownish red with orange shimmer that shifts to gold and olive green. I can spot so many different colours in this shade, it’s really spectacular. The shift is as you can see quite strong too. I love both how it looks on its own and over black, it’s hard to pick a favourite. The black base really amps up the duochrome effect!

Polish Me Silly – Waz Up Girl (4 coats on its own)

Polish Me Silly – Waz Up Girl (2 coats over black)

Polish Me Silly – Waz Up Girl: Next up is Waz Up Girl, an amazing pink to orange duochrome. This is owner Karin’s personal favourite shade! It’s a gorgeous blue-based pink with a stunning silver holographic microglitter. The orange shift becomes more apparent once you shift your nails! I especially adore the silver microglitter in this one. It’s very beautiful.

Polish Me Silly – Tease Me (3 coats on its own)

Polish Me Silly – Tease Me (2 coats over black)

Polish Me Silly – Tease Me: Tease Me has a gorgeous radiant orchid base (hello colour of the year!) with pink/blue shimmer. This one looks very different depending on which light setting you are in, and it looks even more different if you layer it over black. It’s such a complex colour, really stunning. Once you layer it over black it changes into a blue to pink shifting shimmer.

Polish Me Silly – Show Off (4 coats)

Polish Me Silly – Show Off (2 coats over black)

Polish Me Silly – Show Off: A stunning shimmery glass fleck blurple that shifts to pink and gold. As you can see the colour shift is very strong, it has tons of shimmer particles so it’s a very eye-catching polish. For me, this one definitely comes to life layered over black. Love the bright colours of this one!

Polish Me Silly – Steel My Heart (3 coats on its own)

Polish Me Silly – Steel My Heart (1 coat over black)

Polish Me Silly – Steel My Heart: Steel My Heart is a gorgeous steel blue duochrome that shifts to a soft lavender purple. There’s lots of shimmer in this one again, the overall colour is muted but the shimmer is very bright. I personally prefer this one layered over black, as it really brings out the colour shift and colours!

Polish Me Silly – Turtle Time (3 coats on its own)

Polish Me Silly – Turtle Time (2 coats over black)

Polish Me Silly – Turtle Time: Finally we have Turtle Time which is a really beautiful greenish blue shade that shifts to purple/pink. On its own you can see the brownish base creates a sort of Turtle coloured effect which is stunning. Over black it’s a lot brighter but equally stunning.

As I mentioned, the new Polish Me Silly collection, Meet My Chromies, is launching today at 7PM PST on their Etsy page. Prices range between $10.50 and $11.50 a bottle. Make sure to keep an eye on their Facebook page and Instagram for the announcement! In the meantime you can also enter their Facebook giveaway which closes tonight.

Make sure to stay tuned for part II and part III!

Waz up girl is really flashy and cool! And the sparkles makes it unique. I love the orange to pink duochromes, there are not enough of those!

I thought Holy Shift was going to be my favourite, but Metal Mama totally blew my mind in your pics.
