Popsicle Print Nails

23rd August, 2012 - Posted by Emily - 12 Comments

It’s summertiiiiime! The weather has been so hot in Belgium the past few days! Last weekend we had a full-on heatwave. I love summer but it was definitely a bit too hot, especially with no air conditioning in my bedroom I was boiling at night! There’s a few things I do to try and keep cool though, one of which is make my own ice pops/lollies using freshly squeezed fruit (my favourite: grapefruit!).

I figured it would make for a pretty fun manicure, popsicle print! I really love how they turned out. Don’t you just wanna LICK them? :D I even added some fruit-scented topcoat as if the design didn’t tempt me enough!

These are the polishes I used!

  • White, Black, Green, Yellow, Purple and Red nail art pens from Born Pretty Store.
  • China Glaze Classic Camel
  • Essence Fruity Top Coat
  • BK White as a base (not pictured)

Thanks hehe! Umm, it\’s kinda hard to describe. It smells very sweet, almost like candy. Maybe watermelon candy? I dunno haha, it smells pretty good, I usually hate scented polish but this one\’s actually nice!

Hi Emily! I've started to get into nail art a few months ago. My brushes, dotting tools and some other nail accesories I bought online arrived just two weeks ago, so now I can really get into it a have a lot of practice.
I'm reading all your posts and you are helping me a lot with the things I have to buy. The prices are five times more expensive for me, so it is taking me some time to analyze the next purchases I have to do.

I love the tips on this post http://www.emilydenisephotography.com/blog/?p=173
and I'm thinking on buying them. The question is, when you use tips for your nails, do you always use the clear ones or you use the withes ones?
and also, can the tabs damage your nail?, as the glue of it is right on your nail…

well, sorry for writing so long! jiji looking forward to your answer..
Love from Argentina..

Hey Tami! Thanks for your comment! I\’m glad to hear you found my posts helpful :) I always use clear tips, I like seeing the colour underneath the nails but it\’s personal preference. Either one works! Tabs can damage your nail if you pull off the nails without soaking it in hot water first. If you remove them carefully they won\’t damage your nails, they are very strong though! I hope that helped! If you have any more questions let me know :) x

That really helped me, so I just bought the tips at bornpretty, and I used your coupon so thank you for that!!
By the way, the seller I'm buying from on ebay has those dried flowers at a really cheap price!
Here's the link in case you want to take a look at it http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Dried-Flower-Wheel-Nai
