B/W Splatter Nail Art
2nd July, 2012 - Posted by Emily - 21 Comments

A quick nail art post today! Some classic black and white splatters. If you’re unfamiliar with how this technique is done, you basically pick up some polish with a straw and BLOW! It’s really fun but kind of messy so I like to tape up my finger when doing this technique. I also prefer to use an older and thicker polish as this creates very thin lines.
This is what I used to create this mani:
- BK Matte White
- Dearlee Black
- Rectangular Rhinestones (on the black accent nails)
- Essence Sealing Top Coat
Both the black and white nail polish and the rhinestones came from Born Pretty Store. Have you ever tried splatter nails?

Renée, hihi, ze zitten op de zwarte accent nagels, die rechthoekige onderaan. Ze lijken een beetje op reflecties daarom vallen ze niet echt op denk ik
Eileen, hehe thanks! Yeah the gloopier the better in my opinion haha. It creates awesome lines!

Cool, now I'll have something to do with my crappy old polishes.
Yours are definitely the best splatter polishes I've seen!

Awh thanks Lani! You definitely have to try these out!
The flash kinda washed the thinnest lines out sadly, because of the gloopy polish some of the lines were super thin which looks awesome up close.

Yay thanks Gwenn! I'm glad you like it! Using gloopy polish really is the secret to the thin lines hehe. This is actually my second ever splatter mani!

I`ve done them once. Totally by accident though! I tried doing little flowers like I saw on pinterest and it ended up looking like huge globs of splattered nail polish. NOT CUTE!! haha I`ll have to try the straw thing!! Tonight haha I watched a tutorial once on Youtube but it said you had to use paint thinner. Now that you say straw… well, I`m stoaked XD
