Turquoise “Arty” Nail Art

17th June, 2012 - Posted by Emily - 20 Comments

A few weeks ago I sent a massive list of suggestions to Born Pretty Store. I included jewellery, nail polish, nail art supplies, and many other things. One of the things on my list was a faux YSL Arty ring. A ring made popular by fashion bloggers, the real one that is. :) It’s truly a gorgeous piece of jewellery! I personally don’t have the budget for a $200+ ring so a $2.36 one was the perfect alternative! You can find the ring on their website here.

When I saw the ring in person I instantly knew I wanted to do nail art inspired by the turquoise stone that sits inside the ring. I found a perfect colour match in China Glaze Aquadelic, and then I sponged some of Models Own Blooboo on the lower half of my nail. And for the thin black stripes I went with my good old trusted It’s So Easy Stripe Rite. Often nail stripers get thicker after a while, if you add a few drops of water (Yes, water! They are water based so it’s the perfect thinner) to the It’s So Easy stripers they’re as good as new!

There’s a lot more really unique and interesting jewellery pieces that have been added to Born Pretty Store recently, once I get the final two I’ll make a blogpost featuring all of the pieces I suggested. I really hope you will like them! I am personally super excited about all the pieces.

If you order with Born Pretty Store don’t forget to use a coupon code to save some extra cash, my coupon code EMILYW21 gets you 10% off. They have free shipping and orders take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

Do you know what the size of the ring is?

They don't list any sizes so i assume its only one size.

These nails are amazing! And so is the ring (such a gorgeous colour.)

I've spent most of the past two days since discovering your blog reading and exploring the amazing tips and nails that you post!

And I am proud to say that I am a full Born Pretty Store convert – just about to place my first order and I'm SO excited!

So thank you for making me even more enthusiastic about making my nails look pretty.

Patty, yes it's one size only unfortunately. I would call it a larger medium or smaller large. They do state the diameter of the ring on the page I believe! :)

Awh Madeleine! Thank YOU so much! Your comment completely made my day :) I honestly love their store, I pretty much solely buy my supplies and jewellery there. You will love all the items you order I'm sure!

You're more than welcome!

Just a quick question, do yo think that the clear nails or the white nails would be better to get?

I'm not sure which and I've only used white ones before.

You mean nail tips? I usually get the clear ones, but it's up to you! They are both perfectly good, it's just what you personally prefer I guess. I've always used clear tips, I really like being able to see the base colour on the back of your nails!

Haha whoops! Yes, I mean nail tips.

I think I'll go for the clear nail tips :P

Try out something new, I usually just paint the underside of the white nails but using clear ones would probably save a bit of time (and topcoat!)

Yes! Try something new! :D I love clear tips. It definitely makes Louboutin nails a lot easier haha!
