Today I have a really fun and bright swatch post for you featuring part of the new Born Pretty Store range. They’re by the brand ChNail, I can’t find out much about this brand but I can tell you their polishes are awesome! Almost all of these are really opaque and they’re very easy to work with. They are priced at $4.99 for a large 15ml bottle. Not too bad! Let’s take a look at the swatches.
ChNail – 1: Sadly these polishes don’t have names but they do have numbers which you can find on the sticker on the cap of the bottle. This shade is #1 and is a bright raspberry red shade. It’s really beautiful and glided on very nicely. I used two coats to get perfect coverage.
ChNail – 4: This is a super bright hot pink. I’m not sure if this classifies as a neon, it reminds me of China Glaze Love’s A Beach only minus the shimmer and just slightly less bright. It’s really gorgeous! Barbie eat your heart out! I used two coats for this one as well.
ChNail – 18: This is a stunning pastel coral. This colour has my name written all over it, I’m head over heels in love with this shade! However, this polish was by far the hardest to work with, it dries matte and is slightly gloopy (might just be my bottle that’s a bit thicker) so getting an even coverage isn’t a walk in the park. I still only needed two coats but I wish it glided on as well as the others. It also had a strong smell which the others didn’t have as much.
ChNail – 24: This is a pretty light pink. I’m usually not sold on colours like this but since it was nice and opaque I will definitely pull this one out of my drawers more often. I think this would be a really cute pedicure shade as well! I used three coats.
ChNail – 13: Another stunning shade! Not sure how to describe this one, a nude pastel? It’s less orange in person and slightly lighter. I used three coats but it could do with a fourth. It dries quickly so it’s not that big of an issue to me.
ChNail – 15: This is a really unique neon pastel greenish yellow! (Great description right?) This could have done with four coats as well but it’s probably best to layer this one over white so you only need one or two coats. It looks slightly less green in person. I know it’s a shade that’s not for everyone but I loved it!
ChNail – 10: This is a true yellow neon. My picture doesn’t even begin to translate how obnoxiously bright this one is. I wore it to work the other day and so many people commented on how crazy bright my nails were. In my swatch I layered one coat of the yellow over white. On its own you won’t be able to get opaque coverage without VNL.
ChNail – 9: Here’s another super bright neon, this time a green! Just like the yellow, I layered one coat over white. It’s so in-your-face, I love it! Bright would be an understatement!
ChNail – 22: I used two thin coats for this turquoise blue but it could have done with a third, or two thicker ones. It’s a very pretty straightforward turquoise blue. Can’t go wrong with it!
ChNail – 17: This could also have done with a third layer, I only noticed this when I saw my pictures in high res on my computer. In person they looked opaque enough! I was hoping this would be brighter or more neon but I guess neon purple isn’t easy to come by. I still really like this one! It’s a warmer purple which is great since those suit me better.
And here are all the shades lined up on my swatchicles. It’s pretty frustrating how my camera always struggles with the red shades, those aren’t really colour accurate. I think my favourite out of all the shades is the coral despite the issues I had with it, and the nude shade. No surprises there!
