McQueen Skull Nails
3rd May, 2012 - Posted by Emily - 17 Comments

These were inspired by the Alexander McQueen skull scarfs! I had so much fun painting the skulls, it was challenging but I think they turned out pretty good. I had finished all the black and white nails and was stuck on what to do with the other two. I turned to my go-to nail advisor Sarah, and she suggested I use red so all credit goes to her! Here’s what I used to create this:
- Born Pretty Store Dearlee 034
- Born Pretty Store BK 16
- It’s So Easy Stripe Rite in black
- It’s So Easy Stripe Rite in white
- China Glaze Hey Sailor
- Martha Stewart Glitter in Garnet

So pretty!! How do you get your glitter to actually stay on? I tried, and it all fell off before the day even ended!! D":

Loose glitter is tricky! You have to make sure to "wrap" your tips in topcoat and do at least two coats, this will help a lot. On me it depends, sometimes it chips the next day sometimes they stay nice for a bit longer. In any case it's not a mani that will last you through the week I'm afraid, but the effect is so pretty!
