Catrice & Essence haul part I

Finally after many weeks of searching I found a Kruidvat store that had the new Catrice polishes! When I was visiting my boyfriend in Leuven I tried all three Kruidvat stores and the one in the Diestsestraat had the new Catrice and Essence collections. They unfortunately didn’t have the nail art rack so I’m still waiting until I find a store that has them. Sadly a lot of the colours on my wishlist were out of stock but here’s what I was able to pick up so far:
From left to right: Apropos Apricot, Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy, You Belong To Me, Blue Cara Ciao, Pool Party At Night, Sir! Yes Sir!, I Wear My Sunglasses At Night.
In the same order as mentioned above. I’m really pleased with all the colours I was able to get so far. As was mentioned in the comments by Barby, Apropos Apricot is very sheer. It definitely needs one or two extra coats than the other ones which is somewhat disappointing. Despite that it’s a very cute colour. Though my favourite so far is You Belong To Me, it’s the only Essence polish that jumped out at me and to my own surprise it’s very opaque. Thumbs up to Essence! Highly recommend it.
I also really love Blue Cara Ciao and Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy. I thought I was going to love Sir! Yes Sir! but it’s more brown than I thought it was going to be, I was expecting a khaki green along the lines of Chanel Khaki Vert.
The last colour, I Wear My Sunglasses At Night, looks very different than what the press images suggested. The glitters are hardly visible in person which is very sad because they are so beautiful! I took a special close-up image for you guys so you could see. I don’t have a macro lens so I applied the reverse lens technique. I was very surprised when I saw this image on my computer in full size. Looking at my bottle up close I only saw green and pink glitters but as you can see it’s a lot more complex, the glitters are all different sizes too.

Did you see any of the new Catrice and Essence polishes yet? If so which ones did you buy?
Also, you can expect a huge Catrice post coming up soon once I get the remaining colours on my wishlist. I plan on doing a huge swatch post with all the Catrice polishes in my collection!

Ja die is echt heel mooi en in twee laagjes perfect! Grote aanrader. Hopelijk hebben ze er al, kom net terug van't koopcentrum en daar hebben ze nog niets, echt stom!
Gelukkig morgen naar Leuven dan kan ik nog eens gaan kijken hihi.

Hoi Emily,
Ik volg je blog al een tijdje en ook al hou ik niet zo van make up, dankzij jou ben ik een passie voor nagellak aan het krijgen. Ik heb gisteren 'Sold out forever, Bye bye birdy! en My café au lait at Nôtre-Dame' gekocht in Kruidvat Diest. Daar hebben ze wel het nail art rek maar je moet vlug zijn want ze zijn bijna weg! Ik ben nog op zoek naar Circus Confetti.

Hey Karolien! Ontzettend bedankt voor je reactie! Altijd leuk om van nieuwe mensen iets te horen.
Wat een mooie blog heb jij trouwens!
Nagellak is dan ook geweldig, ik ben geen fan van juwelen dus vind ik nagellak het perfecte accessoire. Niks leukers om je outfit mee op te fleuren!
Diest is jammer genoeg niet zo in m'n buurt anders zou ik er zeker een kijkje nemen want ik zit enorm te wachten tot ik het nail art rek van Essence tegenkom, nog wat geduld hebben vrees ik. Dekt My Café au lait at Nôtre-Dame goed? Ik wil graag een paar van die nude lakjes maar vrees dat ze wat doorschijnend gaan zijn…

Easy Peazy looks amazing … I like it more on your pic than in the bottle
I don't know if we'll have the luck to have the nail art hings in Belgium … They are available in Germany since at least a month and still nothing here

We should get the nail art racks soon, some people in the comments said they had seen it in their local Kruidvats so it's a matter of patience I think. And yes Easy Peasy is really fun but I think it will look even better when I have more of a tan

Net uitgeprobeerd en na 3 laagjes is 'My café au lait…' nog een beetje transparant. Jammer. Misschien dat een donkere tint beter dekt?

In de kruidvat in Gent hebben ze nog veel van de nieuwe kleurtjes!

Hebben ze daar het nail art rekje van Essence? Heb ondertussen nog een paar Catrice kleurtjes die ik wou kunnen bemachtigen maar in nog geen enkele kruidvat het tweede rek van Essence gezien.
