I did another manicure! Once again I went for the leopard, but this time in silver! For some reason the design doesn’t show well enough in the pictures so apologies, if you’d like to recreate this please look at my other leopard manicure where the design is easier to follow.

Products used in this order:

Seche Clear

China Glaze Jitterbug

Gosh Pearl

Black nailpolish

Seche Vite

This is the base for this look, Jitterbug by China Glaze from the Vintage Vixen collection.

Second step is applying dots, I used a pale silver, Pearl by Gosh.

Add black leopard details. At the end add top coat to seal everything in, and done!

Roar!

I have another circle lens review! I was really excited about these, they’re bigger than the last ones and a different colour. They’re from the brand Pop.C in the colour light grey. They’re available at dbeautyshop.com at €31,92 and last up to a year, I’m guessing the size of them is why they are slightly more expensive than other types of circle lenses. Circle lenses are a trend from Asia, in particular Korea and Japan where anime or manga eyes are very desirable and having a different eyecolour a nice change from having dark brown eyes like everyone else.

Each purchase comes with a free lens case.

I really loved the design of these when I saw them online and I wasn’t disappointed when I received them, the Geo Nudy Blues were very pixelated, these look much better I think. I really like the thick black rim on the outside.

In comparison! As you can see, they’re much bigger than my own iris, these lenses are particularly large at 15.5mm!

In close-up. You can see my natural colour behind the lenses as my pupil is small because of the flash, when lighting is less bright you can’t see any brown whatsoever.

They’re very comfortable to wear, I think they are more comfortable than the Geo Nudy lenses, despite these being so large. I can feel they’re there but only slightly. They don’t look very natural, I’ll be honest, they’re really dramatic and in person slightly scary even. My mum’s reaction to seeing them for the first time was “my daughter has turned into an alien”, I couldn’t stop laughing. I’m not sure I feel comfortable wearing them out though, as people might stop and stare or ask “what the hell is wrong with your eyes?” but I think they’re perfect to use in pictures. In pictures they look interesting and mesmerizing whereas in person they’re dramatic and a bit eerie. Overall I really like these, much better than the blue ones, they give you a youthful look and a doll-like appearance and they’re real good fun.

website: www.dbeautyshop.com

I was sent this product by D’Beautyshop for review purpose. I am not in any way affiliated with this company nor am I being paid by them. All opinions stated are honest and my own, as always.

As promised in my previous post I have a step by step tutorial on how I did my nails! It’s supposed to look like roses, I’m not 100% happy with how they turned out but they’re fun nonetheless.

I started with Seche Clear basecoat and Seche Porcelain (or any white nailpolish) as a base colour.

Apply Pink and Yellow dots randomly, I used Check me out and Being on the A-list by H&M.

Make leaves! I used a green nailpolish by Claire’s.

Finish off by tracing with black! I used black nail art polish and a nail art brush, any fine tip brush will do! Finished off with Seche Vite for ultra shine!

It took me at least an hour to finish this! Very time consuming but oh so fun.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, summer’s been busy and very hot! My boyfriend’s been here a lot, he passed his exams so we’re enjoying a 3 month holiday together! We had lots of plans for the past few days but nearly all of them fell through, it’s simply been too hot to do anything lately. Though last Tuesday it wasn’t as hot, so we decided to go shopping in Antwerp. I bought tons of dresses and he bought at least six T-shirts cause he had several stolen at the Rock Werchter festival.

While he was at Rock Werchter I went to my sister’s birthday party. This is what I made her, a shoulder bag, a pencil-case and a wallet. Besides the wallet the fabrics are from IKEA, when I saw them I knew she would love them! The wallet is from an old fabric her mum bought for my mum in Africa years ago. We’re half sisters, hence… I really hope she liked them and will enjoy using them.

In Antwerp I bought this stunning lace jacket at H&M, it was a bit expensive at €39,99 but I just fell in love with it.

Ignore the clutter behind me, I’m in Dries’ room and we had to rearrange it completely so we could put two mattresses together, yay for the Simpsons pillowcases!

The black dress I’m wearing in this picture is also from H&M, and because I loved it so much (and because it was so cheap! Just €6,95) I bought it in several of other colours as well. Only the black one and the green zebra print were a size small, the others were a size medium and too loose fitting so I’m going to take them in a bit.

peach, a blue print with hummingbirds, turquoise, black zebra print, green zebra print and white

Last week we also went to the house of his departed grandparents, the house still needs clearing out and cleaning up before it’s being sold. We went alongside his parents to see if there were things we wanted that would be chucked otherwise. I found this gorgeous snake skin clutch, I’m not sure if it’s real or fake, though I’m guessing it’s genuine.

I cut Dries’ hair on Sunday cause it was bothering him, on the back of his head it tends to grow all wonky so I cut it straight, after that I took some passport photos for his new ID!

Note the nails! Will be posting a tutorial on them very soon.

The left one is the one we picked eventually, though the one on the right would have been way more awesome! Oh god, how I love my dorky boyfriend

I’ve been browsing this tumblr for the past few days and fell in love with the gorgeous manicures on there. I was inspired to do a leopard nail manicure, I thought it was going to be a bit tricky but this is SO easy, trust me! You don’t need a steady hand, and both of your hands will look amazing cause you don’t need your dominant hand to make it look good.

You start by picking a base colour and another colour for the dots, preferably ones that match, like opposite colours (what I chose) or picking a dark colour as a base and the same colour but lighter for the dots (or the other way around) that will work great as well!

Draw random dots all over your nails! Could it be any easier? Looks totally ridiculous and sort of resembles a disease but it will look good don’t worry! The colours I used are I Sea You and I Scream Peach, both by Catrice.

Dot some black nail polish on a piece of paper, grab a cue tip and draw some lines around the dots, leave gaps in between to make it look like a leopard print. This may look slightly hard but it’s really simple and it doesn’t matter if you mess up. It’s fool proof!

All done! Rawr!

I know most of us are not even remotely thinking about Fall in this heatwave we’re having, but as always, fashion is ahead of us. I have a huge photo heavy review for you about the new China Glaze Fall collection: Vintage Vixen. As the name reflects, it’s all about the bygone eras, in particular the forties where they danced to the swing during the war. This collection of twelve bottles is packed full of classic colours and deep sultry hues. It’s coming out next week so here’s a sneak preview!

The formula on these is great as always, perfect opacity after two thin coats (one could do the trick but it’s better to layer it thin) and they remove quite easily too, despite having glitter! They go on really nicely though sometimes they get slightly tricky when you think you’ve removed the excess polish off your brush, a huge drop will come down and spill all over your nail, very annoying!

If you look carefully you can see the blurry bottles behind my hand!

Hey Doll: A dark pink with silver shimmer

Bogie: Gorgeous dark plum colour with silvery shimmer

First Class Ticket: One of my favourites, a deep blueish purple

Midnight Mission: Greyish blue with silver shimmer

These colours scream Christmas holidays don’t they!

Emerald Fitzgerald: I love the name of this colour, it’s a beautiful shimmery teal

Jitterbug: A gorgeous silver chrome with micro glitter, I’ve been singing this song for days cause of this polish!

Riveter Rouge: Red with silver shimmer

Foxy: A coppery orange/red

Goin’ My Way?: A shimmery warm brown

Swing Baby: A glittery taupe with copper and silver shimmer

Ingrid: A brown of the greige family

Classic Camel: A light mustard brown colour, a very unique colour but not for me

Even though I usually go for the more brightly coloured these are really stunning, especially First Class Ticket, Emerald Fitzgerald and Jitterbug take to my fancy a lot, but this one has to be my favourite by far:

I would never believe I’d say this but I seem to have been converted, I previously stated I wasn’t a big fan of the whole Greige trend, but this colour has blown me away. Ingrid isn’t the most excitable name, but this polish is such a dream and it looks great on my skin tone. I’ve been wearing my peach-coloured dress and this nail polish is so perfect next to it!

I was sent these products by China Glaze for review purpose. I am not in any way affiliated with this company nor am I being paid by them. All opinions stated are honest and my own, as always.

Yesterday I went to Antwerp with my boyfriend and his brother. It was really hot outside and it was very busy but we had a lot of fun. I shopped a few things at H&M, they have a great discount going on now, if you buy two items with coloured tags both the items are 50% off. The brothers both bought a great suit which would have been €90 but they were able to buy it for €45 instead!

I let myself go a bit, splashed out and got 5 nail polishes cause I loved the colours that much. They’re more vibrant in real life and the purple is more reddish instead of blue.

From left to right, Check Me Out a gorgeous hot pink, Being on the A-List a bright yellow, Pink Mist a nude colour but it’s not very opaque so more suitable for French nails, Bella’s choice which is a great turquoise blue, and Fashionista which is the most gorgeous shimmery purple.

I love the colours but I’m not a big fan of the formula, it takes a long time to dry, besides Pink Mist they’re all pretty opaque though I am wearing white underneath my swatches, they look pretty much the same without and give good coverage after two layers. They do chip really easily unfortunately.

They’re €3,95 each at H&M.

I also bought some sunglasses, I already had the pink one, I bought it a while ago. I saw the mint green one when I bought the pink and I really regretted not buying it at the time. I saw it again yesterday at the separate accessories H&M store on the Meir and I grabbed it instantly. They’re just €4,95!

a still from a L’Oréal mascara advert featuring Penelope Cruz

This is my interpretation of her make-up. I do not think I look like Penelope Cruz, this is merely inspired by her and her make-up. My face looks lighter than my body in this picture but this is due to the flash! And my hair looks different because I put bobby pins in my fringe to pull it back

In close-up.

Products I used for this look:

Manhattan eyeliner pencil on upper and lower waterlines, smudged using Sigma SS209

Black eyeshadow from the Zoeva 88 warm palette, applied and smudged with Sigma SS209

Peach eyeshadow from the Zoeva 88 warm palette, applied to the crease with Sigma SS219 and blended with the SS239

Applied false eyelashes from Gypsy Lashes in 94

The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara by Maybelinne

Dark brown eyeshadow from the Zoeva 88 matte palette to fill in my brows with Sigma SS266 (one of my favourite brushes)

on my face I used Face & Body foundation by MAC, Hema Wet&Dry Blush and Gosh lipstick in Darling.

The lashes I used here weren’t featured in my huge lash post, I thought they would be too wispy and dramatic but they proved perfect for this look! I really love them now.

A while ago I discovered gossmakeupartist on Youtube, an amazing professional make-up artist who makes really great tutorials. I saw his male make-up tutorial a while ago and was really inspired by it, his skills really blew me away. I made my boyfriend watch the video too and he jokingly said that I should try it on him once. I’m one of those people who takes everything seriously (at least I know I do!) so I did it on him today. I have to add, this is the first time EVER I did make-up on a man. I think I did okay for a first time and with the available tools I had.

This is the “before”-image. Though I have to add, technically it’s the after image cause I forgot to take a before picture this is after we took off all the make-up, he also shaved by the way.

This is the “after”-image. I think it gives him a more defined and masculine look, it also evened out his skintone to blend better with his neck. It may look slightly dramatic in this picture (I think so at least) but it looked very natural in real life. I told my mum I had done make-up on my boyfriend before she saw it, when he came in she kept staring at him before she finally said “If you hadn’t told me I wouldn’t have noticed it.”

He enjoyed having the make-up applied a lot, but I’m sure us girls will understand cause being pampered is great. We had a lot of fun doing this, it doesn’t look 100% perfect but as I said it was my first go. I followed most of the steps gossmakeupartist did besides curling his lashes and covering them with eyeliner (instead of mascara) because he thinks lash curlers look really scary. Boys are such wimps sometimes!

And by the way, this is not something we’re going to do regularly, it was just for fun!
